Wera Torque Tools
Wera prides itself on making the best tool for the job, as anyone familiar with its superb Kraftform® screwdrivers knows, the company’s torque tools are another quality product that further demonstrate this commitment to excellence
The product many people most closely associate with Wera the Kraftform® screwdriver is the perfect example of this high standard, which it has carried through to its torque tools. For the first time in the production of screwdrivers, ergonomic aspects were taken into consideration in the development of a tool.
The Kraftform® handle, which features on the torque tools, has become a favorite of many users worldwide since its introduction into the market in 1968, and it has been recognised by the industry several times. This handle revolutionised the market for screwdrivers, which was dominated at the time by cylindrical, wooden or plastic handles shaped with slots or ribs.
Today, the Kraftform® handle stands for innovation as well as tradition, and is the unmistakable trademark of Wera.
For both professional end-users in industry and for serious DIYers in the workshop, Wera tools are the only choice when looking for the best tools for the job, since Wera provides tooIs for better productivity, increased security and improved ergonomics.
Besides working towards its objective of trying to develop the best tools for the job, Wera enjoy the extensive dialogue and co-operation with its customers. This relationship is critical to the development and production of Wera products.
The torque tools feature both the original Kraftform® handle and the newer pistol handle. The Kraftform® handle is shaped by the hand and provides a tremendous grip with the unique multicomponent (soft and hard “zones”) composition providing optimal contact zones for the muscles of the hand. As a result, the Kraftform® handle provides better turning power, with less effort. Repeated turning is also easy, since the hard zones move smoothly across the skin when repositioning the hand on the handle. For torque values greater than 3 Nm the Kraftform® Pistol handle is the right Choice. It Provides a safe and comfortable fit in the hand and high power transfer.
Adjustable torque screwdrivers
More and more screw connections in service and industry have to be tightened to the prescribed torque. Only the exact torque guarantees a secure fastening as well as a fast and easy loosening
The best tools for the job for these applications are the adjustable torque screwdrivers by Wera. These are precise and efficient tools, which can be adjusted in fine increments allow for controlled tightening
At the same time, Wera torque screwdrivers guarantee proven quality and ergonomic design for the benefit of the user.
This series comes with two different handles, adjusted in size and form to the required torque (0 3 to 1.2Nm, 1.2 to 3.0Nm, resp 3.0 to 5.0 Nm, 2 5 to 11.5in. Ibs, 11.0 to 29.0 in, lbs., 25.0 to 55.0 in lbs.). Thus, the user has always the right tool at hand.
Pre-set and Adjustable torque screwdrivers:
These torque screwdrivers are delivered with a pre-set torque value. The pre-set values available are 0 3 Nm; 1.2 NM; 3.0 Nm; 2.5 in lbs; 11.0 in. lbs. and 25.0 in lbs.
Tools with a different pre-set torque value within the available torque ranges can be supplied on demand. The torque values can be changed within the available torque ranges. Remove the cap at the top of the handle and adjust the setting nut with a nutspinner. Check the adjusted preset torque value with a certified torque test instrument and reseal the tool with the cap. Preset adjustable torque screwdrivers are ideal for all applications, which require consistently accurate, repeatable torque.
The Torque-indicator
Only the exact torque guarantees a secure fastening. Also, excessive torque values must be avoided in order to guarantee fast and easy loosening. If the screws are overtorqued, they can be damaged or destroyed when loosened. The consequences are expensive and time-consuming drilling and tapping, as well as unproductive tool stoppage
The tightening values (0.6 Nm, 0.9 Nm, 1.2 Nm, 1.4 Nm, 2.0 Nm, 3.0 Nm, 5.0 Nm (0.4 ft.lb., 0.7 ft.lb, 0.9 ft.lb., 1.0 ft.lb., 1.5 ft.lb,,2.2 ft.lb., 3.7 ft.lb.) are related to the size of the TORX®, TORX PLUS® and hexagon socket screws.
The torque indicators of Wera have been developed in cooperation with leading reversible carbide insert experts and ensure the correct fastening torque, for security and easy tool changes.
Rapidaptor
Wera’s Rapidaptor makes bit changes faster easier and safer, it features on the company’s range of adjustable and pre set adjustable screwdrivers.
Fast-installation and self-locking - The bit can be inserted into the Rapidaptor® holder without adjusting the clamping sleeve
The self-locking system Is activated as soon as the bit touches the screw’s recess A secure and wobble-free connection is guaranteed
Fast-removal - By pushing the clamping sleeve forward the hit can be easily changed. The spring-loaded mechanism unlocks the bit and lifts it away from the magnet. As a result, tooling changes are easy and fast.
Rapid-out makes the changing even of small bits (e. g. PH 0 or TX 5) problem-free, without the need for any extra tools.
Free-spinning - The free-spinning outer sleeve gives the user an additional “grip-point” to help stabilise, the tool, during the screwdriving process. Obviously, this makes it much easier to insert the tool into the screw’s recess, and also helps to prevent the tool from slipping out of the screw head.
universal hold - The Rapidaptor® adaptor can be used with 1/4” bits of the Wera Series 1 (DIN 3126- C 6.3) as well as 1/4” bits of the Wera series 4 (E 6.3) up to a length of 152 mm.
One-hand use - Installation or removal of bits from the Rapidaptor® bit holder is a quick and easy one hand operation.
