Paul and Alan are not seeking to “re-invent the wheel” and use available information from a leading national fixings catalogue to determine prices that are both profitable and attractive to customers. This ensures that fixings purchasers get the best of all worlds with a economically priced product supplied by a friendly and helpful sales team.
Both Paul and Alan are pleased to be assisted with prestigious local projects such as the refurbishment of the Art Deco “De La Warre Pavillion” in nearby Bexhill on Sea. Most recently, the company has supplied power tools and fixings to mount an extensive art exhibition.
In terms of the, always difficult, start up phase, with a long history in the DIY and professional building supply industries, Paul and Alan couldn’t speak too highly of the help they had from the trade, with goods readily available on good credit terms. ToolBank also provided a merchandising specialist for three days getting the basic display ready to start trading. Alan said it was not set in stone but it was a great beginning. As well as Toolbank, Archery is supplied by a range of excellent tools and other products from Draper. For fixings, TI Midwood are the preferred supplier.
One interesting facet of the business is that some local Merchants who don’t have the range and specialist knowledge have started sending customers with specialist requirements to Archery.
For example, Paul and Allan were delighted to be able to help a Harley Davidson “biker” recently with a special spark plug socket and even more delighted when he returned to purchase a full set of sockets.
Coming from the building trade, Paul and Alan had not originally considered steelwork as being significant to the customer mix but have now started to expand the Company’s range to include specialised abrasive products.
Archery Tools and Fixings aim to help its customers find everything they need for their projects. From tools to fixings, garden equipment to books, the company aims to be a one-stop-shop. They can also offer a spares & repair service so customers don’t have to throw out their favourite tool if it develops a fault.
