Action Can
Located not far from the world famous Haydock Park racecourse, near St. Helens, Mersey side, are the headquarters of Action Can and its impressive range of products.
Since its formation in 1947 the company has worked for many of the world’s leading companies, Action Can produces its products either as private label goods or under its own brand.
Editor Brian Hall recently travelled north to the Home of Action Can Limited and spoke with the company’s Director Chris Garrity.
This length of experience has put the company in a singularly strong position as a partner for companies looking to develop new ranges. Chris Garrity explains: “We know what works and what doesn’t work, we take the risk out of developing new product ranges, there is no mileage in selling products that are nor going to achieve regular consistent repeat sales, thus ensuring stock is fast moving.” But other factors are essential too, “Equally important is the fact that the products must be premium grade to match the expectations of the professional end user.”
As a measure of its dedication to the quality of its products Action Can holds the ISO 9000 quality system. The company is rightly proud of its long record of service and success and currently produces over 60 premium grade products, mainly aerosols, for the distribution and reseller markets. Action can products are a familiar sight across the UK as well as being widely distributed abroad.
Action Can’s experience and commitment to quality pays off for its distributors as well, as Chris Points out: “We know how our distributors work, we fully understand the importance of availability and prompt dispatch of goods, the company is focused to give real customer service not just glib statements.” Knowing the distributor’s requirements is, in effect knowing the requirements of the end user: “Our products do the job and do it well, the products have to meet very high standards, the people using our products are professionals, it is a waste of their valuable time to give them products that don’t perform,” Says Chris.
